Introduction to Joomla!

In the introductory Joomla! students will explore the Joomla! Website and download and install the Joomla! current version files. Students will become familiar with the basic content and features of Joomla!, create several pages of content, and link the content to basic menus.

Prerequisites
Students should have some familiarity with html and a basic understanding of the term 'database'.
Requirements
Must have a functioning web server which has PHP 4.3 or later, has Zlib, and MySQL 3.23.x on or with Unicode character sets MySQL from 4.1.x on.
For Joomla 2.5 - Verify that the web server has: PHP 5.2.4+ minimum, Apache (with mod_mysql, mod_xml, and mod_zlib) 2.x + minimum, or Microsoft IIS 7. Course Books
