Membership Benefits, Classes, and Dues

The HTML Writers Guild offers a variety of online resources, and career development services to individuals in the field of World Wide Web design and authoring. The HWG strives to maintain a low-cost, efficient operation and yet provide maximum benefits to its membership. Our annual dues for all levels of membership are substantially less than those of comparable trade associations. Listed below are the membership categories, benefits, and the associated yearly costs.


Individual Memberships:
Membership Description Dues
Basic Any individual interested in World Wide Web page design may apply. Basic Members receive the monthly HWG Newsletter, access to to all current HWG mailing lists, and the HWG IRC channel as basic membership benefits, as well as additional benefits as may be determined by the GB. FREE
Value Any individual, regardless of skill level, interested in World Wide Web page design may apply. Membership in the Value category includes the all benefits listed above, plus access to the HWG Mentor program and online education classes. $20.00
Plus This membership category is open to any Individual wishing to expand upon the Basic or Value membership benefits. Membership in the Plus category includes all benefits listed above, additional topic-specific mailing lists, a Vendor Discount Program, access to the Job Listing Service, a members sub-contracting service, as well as the opportunities to vote in HWG wide elections or to hold elected office. $35.00

Institutional/Corporate Memberships
Membership Description Dues
Business Any business, corporation, or insitution with a interest in World Wide Web page design and authoring may apply for Corporate Membership. As an Business Member of The HTML Writers Guild, you are eligible to select an Business Member Designee, who automatically becomes an Plus Member and enjoys all of the membership benefits of HWG. All Business Members can receive discounts on advertising in HWG publications. $100.00
Corporate Membership is open to any business, corporate, or insitutional organizations wishing to participate in a strategic alligance with The HTML Writers Guild. Corporate members of The HTML Writers Guild appoint a Corporate Member Designee, who automatically becomes an Plus Member and enjoys all of the membership benefits of HWG. All Corporate Members can receive discounts on advertising in HWG publications, as well as the opportunity to join the HWG Corporate Sponsorship Program, which offers exclusive banner advertising on specific pages of the HWG website on a quarterly basis.

Corporate Membership Rates:
0- 50 employees : $250 (Includes 1Corporate Member Designee)
50- 100 employees : $500 (Includes 2 Corporate Member Designee)
101- 500 employess : $1000 (Includes 5 Corporate Member Designee)
501- 999 employess : $2500 (Includes 10 Corporate Member Designee)
1000 + employees : $5000 (Includes 20 Corporate Member Designee)


Patron Open to any individual or institution that wants to support the Association to a greater degree than through the Corporate Membership fee.
In addition to the above benefits, Patron members receive the following additional benefits:

  • one free ad in the HWG Newsletter, on a space available basis
  • the one-time use of the HWG mailing list at half price cost (This is not the full HWG list, but those members wishing to be contacted by vendors)
  • your URL linked to our Supporting Members page on the HWG Web site
  • prime location within the HWG vendor directory.
  • Corporate name included on select association materials
  • Corporate press releases eligible for inclusion in the association's newsletter and website
